My Tips for Best Gua Sha Results
If you’ve been following my socials, you know that my latest holistic health/spa obsession is Gua Shas—a totally natural, non-invasive method for getting tighter, more toned, and more radiant skin.
These stones are products, however, which return the best results when used correctly.
A question I get ALL the time from my followers is, “How can I get the BEST Gua Sha results? Are there any special tips or tricks I can use to get results more quickly?”
Today, I’m answering these common questions and sharing my top tips for getting the best Gua Sha results possible!
Without further ado, let’s jump in!
Use your Gua Sha consistently. There is no magic way to make a gua sha stone completely transform your face in one use—so if you aren’t using it often and consistently, you won’t see results at all. Ensuring you are using it every single day is important. Whether you decide to use it in the morning, at night, or both, be sure it becomes just as a part of your routine as brushing your teeth or putting on deodorant.
Be gentle. While you can use the stone firmly on your face and neck, there is no reason to hurt yourself or dig into your skin with unnecessary force. This actually does more harm than good, and will not give you results any faster than using the stone the correct way. In fact, it may damage your skin and slow your results when using pressure in the wrong areas. Leave the deep Gua Sha massage to your massage therapist.
Use an oil with your Gua Sha stone. Making sure the stone can glide easily along your skin is super important for achieving the best Gua Sha results, so I recommend using oil each time. You don’t need a lot! Just a bit of moisture will go a long way in helping your skin move with the stone instead of feeling stretched by it. Some of my favorites are Living Libations Best Skin Ever and Savor Beauty’s Pumpkin Seed Oil.
Not all stones are created equal—so choose a great one. I recommend looking for a Gua Sha stone in the $35-$75 dollar range and making sure it is made of pure stone. Otherwise, it may leak dyes or toxins and push them deep into your skin. I highly recommend these stones because they are authentic crystals that are carefully selected for their healing properties for the skin, body, and soul.
Always slide your Gua Sha tool outward instead of upward and then end the stocks by draining down. A big part of the “drainage” aspect of the Gua Sha practice is allowing toxins, fluid, and other buildups to flow down and out—not be shoved upward, further into your face and neck. If you want to see the best Gua Sha results, ensure you’re always moving your tool in the direction you want the drainage to go!
